Unbound Innovations XR

Unbound Innovations XR, a grant funded by the Alliance with an eight year investment of $159K beginning in 2018. It embeds the immersive tools of Virtual and Augmented Reality into middle school academic and elective classes.
The power of Virtual Reality to provide students with an environment rich in visuals, original audio, and interactivity creates a memorable experience where they are being introduced to an immersive transformative education.

Learn a variety of languages
Produce music
Glide through space while making stops at every planet and satellite
Perform dissections and other lab experiments
Take tours of Anne Frank’s hiding spots

Over the years, at Western Middle School, thousands of students have had the opportunity to experience this innovative approach to learning.

In 2026-2027, Unbound Innovations will be expanded to Eastern and Central Middle Schools.
