Did you know our programs reach 75% of students across Greenwich Public Schools each year? Reaching Out Grants are a big reason why! These grants fuel impactful growth from school to school and student to student.

This year the grants include an AI learning initiative at GHS, giving students, teachers and administrators hands-on experience with emerging technology.

We also love seeing the arts come to life. At Julian Curtiss, 4th and 5th graders wowed audiences with The Lion King Kids. Behind the scenes the stage crew built "Pride Rock" themselves, while the actors brought creativity, teamwork and confidence to the center stage. As teacher Ariel Wilshaw shared, the experience helps students express themselves, collaborate and truly support one another.

We have received an exciting mix of new and returning grant applications for the 2026-2027 school year, all led by passionate educators focused on elevating every student's experience.

REACHING OUT GRANTS

Lights, Camera ... Theater Club!

New Lebanon's K-2 Theater Club brings performances to life with a fun, five-week after school program. Families and classmates were treated to shows celebrating "food, glorious food"! 1st graders made everyone laugh watching The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

Strong Showing at Middle School Science Bowl

Greenwich sent the most teams to the Middle School Regional Science Bowl, making up an impressive 33% of the competition.

EMS 1 placed 4th and CMS 1 took 7th, with teams from EMS, CMS, and WMS all performing strongly in the wildcard rounds. Most importantly, students had a fantastic experience along the way.

GHS ceramics and sculpture students welcomed visiting artist David Morrison who shared his creative process and the environmental themes behind his work.

Known for transforming found objects into striking, apocalyptic-style sculptures, Morrison gave students a fresh perspective on art and storytelling. Students then created their own clay pieces and experimented with glazing techniques.

This hands-on experience was made possible through an Alliance grant supporting the Developing Artist program led by artist and educators, Michael Manning and Ben Quesnel.

AVID Seniors Build Networking Skills

Networking is key!

AVID seniors got a hands-on lesson with Ivonne Zucco, People and Culture consultant. She helped students map their networks, think about how to grow them and craft their own elevator pitches to practice with Alliance volunteers.

Hamilton Avenue School is launching AVID this coming Fall. With support from an Alliance grant, teachers attended AVID Summer Institute and are working with AVID's Northeast Implementation Director to bring best-in-class strategies to the classroom.

We are excited to see AVID grow across K-12!

As a member of Greenwich Together we are excited to participate in Hope Day. This upbeat FREE community event for Greenwich Youth, Teens and Families is filled with activities and resources surrounding mental health.
