The DC Trip is made possible for all GPS 8th graders who want to attend the trip regardless of financial ability through the fundraising efforts of the 8th Grade DC Trip Scholarship Fund in partnership with the Greenwich Alliance for Education. The Fund relies on local grants, community fundraisers and the generous donations of the GPS parent community for student scholarships. No donation is too small and all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Thanks in advance for your support of the GPS 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C! Here’s a personal plea from Christian, an 8th grader from Central Middle School who just came back from D.C.!
“I really enjoyed going on the trip to DC. We got to visit many famous landmarks, museums, or memorials, such as the Lincoln Memorial, the Holocaust Museum, and even the White House. I really liked the trip because I felt immersed in history and I got to see some of the things that I had only really heard about, or seen on the news. I think that the trip helped bring some of the things we learned throughout the year into reality. Plus, it was a lot of fun hanging out with friends and experiencing everything together as a group.”
