Tuning In To Music showcased graduates at the recital performed at Western Middle School in early June. Here is what two students had to say: Daniel Martinez (TITM - 8 years) "When I was in elementary school, I remember my orchestra teacher telling me 'Hey, Daniel, I'm nominating you for private lessons outside of school'. This program has seriously helped me. I feel if you want to have a good seat in your school's orchestra, you need to take private lessons. I've been learning with my instructor, Charlotte Chiu, from the CT School of Music since 5th grade. Thank you for an amazing opportunity to grow as a musician." (Pictured above left with his violin.) Alondra Santana (TITM - 9 years) "Tuning In To Music is a great program. I used to play the violin and the flute and decided in high school to stick with the flute. Sharon Levin, CT School of Music teacher, has taught me a lot and without her I don't believe that I would be playing at this level today." (Pictured above right with Sharon Levin.) |
